Which mode not to use in the washing machine: the clothes will remain dirty
Most washing machines offer multiple wash cycles, and the most popular is the fast mode. The main advantage of the express mode is that it washes laundry in record time. Of course, this can save you a lot of time.
However, Sante Plus experts say that this mode is not always worth it, as some programs may be unsuitable and cause irreparable damage to the laundry.
What are the disadvantages of the express wash mode
Depending on the model of the washing machine, the express mode takes from 15 to 60 minutes. It includes a wash, rinse, and spin cycle and is more suitable for small amounts of laundry. However, the express function has some drawbacks.
The fast program does not guarantee clean laundry, as some stubborn stains are difficult to remove in such a short time at a low temperature. The temperature setting of +35°C does not allow you to disinfect sheets, underwear, towels, and baby clothes, which require a minimum temperature of +60°C.
The fast mode makes the washing machine more energy-intensive. When it is activated, the machine's heating element is used intensively, consuming more energy to heat the water faster. If you want to save money, it is better to switch to the economy mode.
Express wash is not suitable for all fabrics, and some fabrics require special treatment. Selecting the fast mode can easily damage delicate fabrics such as wool, silk, or lace. Therefore, delicate items, bedding, and children's clothes are best washed using the standard longer cycle.
