Shashlik in the oven on skewers: how to cook meat tasty and unusual

Shashlik is one of our favorite meat dishes, which can be cooked on a grill, in a frying pan, and in the oven on skewers. And for the meat to be juicy and flavorful, it should be marinated in spices or marinade.

One of the culinary blogs(zhuravlina_cooking) on Instagram published a recipe for homemade shashlik with pineapples, which you can easily prepare on skewers in the oven.

Shashlik recipe in the oven


  • chicken fillet - 700 g
  • soy sauce - 100 ml
  • sour cream (any fat content) - 80-90 ml
  • smoked paprika - 2 tsp.
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp.
  • salt
  • pineapples - 1 b
  • skewers - 5-6 pcs.

Method of preparation:

1. Cut the chicken fillets into large pieces, put them in a bowl and add the soy sauce, sour cream, smoked paprika, ground black pepper and salt. Stir, cover with cling film and leave to marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

2 Cut the pineapples into slices.

3. Soak the skewers in water for 15 minutes, so they don't burn when baked and the meat will string better.

4. String the marinated meat on skewers alternately with the pineapple. Place the shashlik in a parchment-lined dish.

5. Bake at 180 degrees for 45 minutes, then take the meat out of the oven, pour the pineapple juice and bake for another 7 minutes at 220 degrees. Leave the finished shashlik in the form for 15 minutes.
