Russian Defence Ministry terminates contract with Prigozhin's Concord company

The Russian Ministry of Defence has cancelled the contract with the Concord catering company owned by Yevgeny Prigozhin, the curator of the Wagner PMC. In addition, the Russian regulator Roskomnadzor blocked access to websites related to the Wagner Group, including the so-called 'troll factory", and a sign was dismantled from the Wagner Centre W building in St Petersburg.

This was reported by Russian media. It is known that the Concord company was engaged in food supplies to the Russian military. In addition, the holding also unites construction companies, the media, the Wagner Group armed formation and companies in other industries under the leadership of Prigozhin.

Concord Management and Consulting LLC, based in St. Petersburg, is the group's parent organisation. Its principal activity is described as "operation of restaurants and food delivery services".

Meanwhile, among the websites banned by Roskomnadzor were the portals of Prigozhin's Patriot media holding: RIA FAN, Politika Segodnya, Ekonomika Segodnya, Nevskie Novosti and Narodnye Novosti. The "Putin's chef" himself disbanded Patriot, including the "troll factory" that was used in Russia to spread disinformation about the war in Ukraine on social media, and announced to the company's executives that the holding was "leaving the public sphere".

According to media reports, the Nevskie Novosti editorial office announced its closure on 30 June, while Politika Segodnya announced on its Telegram that "the editorial office will be radically reformatted" and the channel itself will likely become an author's blog. It is noted that employees of Prigozhin's publications have already been informed of their dismissal. At the same time, it is not reported at whose request Roskomnadzor made the decision.

Moreover, Russian propagandists appear to have launched a campaign to discredit the Wagner PMC after Prigozhin's "march on Moscow". For example, the Kremlin's Pervyi Kanal (First Channel) aired a story in which the effectiveness of Wagner mercenaries was called a "myth" and at the same time praised the regular army of the Russian Federation.

The propagandists pointed out that the Wagnerites "took 224 days to take Bakhmut, which is not the most important town in terms of the entire front," a "town of 41.5 square kilometres and a population of 72,000 people."

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- Prigozhin's mutiny in Russia had positive consequences for the Ukrainian army, as this military structure disappeared from the battlefield. This event also proved that the structure of the Russian aggressor state is much weaker than the Kremlin's propaganda claims;

- Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that after the attempted armed rebellion in Russia, the FSB was tasked with eliminating Yevhen Prygozhin. It will take some time to prepare the liquidation operation, and it remains to be seen whether the Russian secret service will dare to carry out the order.
