Baking soda with vinegar or citric acid will restore the shine and cleanliness of your faucets

Hard water leaves the most limescale on faucets. This is not surprising because the entire water flow passes through this point. Such stains can also be found on sinks, bathtubs, showers, tiles, and various items in the bathroom and kitchen. So, the problem is widespread, and it's worth knowing how to deal with limescale.

Express has collected several proven life hacks shared by social media users. It turns out that removing limescale on faucets is not so difficult, even if it is already old and has accumulated in large quantities.

Most often, users are advised to use a paste of baking soda and white vinegar or lemon juice. The baking soda should be mixed with a small amount of acidic liquid to make a fairly thick paste. This product is used to cover the limescale stain and left to act for a certain time. The thicker the layer of limescale, the longer the paste needs to be kept on.

If the contamination is significant, the product can even be left overnight, covered with a bag or plastic wrap. In very difficult cases, the procedure will have to be repeated several times, but eventually, the soda-acid paste should completely clean the deposits.

Once the soda-based paste has worked on the top layer of limescale, the contaminated area should be scrubbed with a soft brush. It won't scratch the surface, but it will do a good job of removing the softened limescale.

Once the problem is fixed, you just need to rinse the treated surface with water to remove the remaining baking soda and wipe it with a dry microfiber cloth to polish it. Preventive cleaning with a soda paste is best done regularly while the limescale layer is still thin. Then it will be much easier to clean the faucets.

Another life hack does not require the preparation of a special product. To fight limescale, you just need to take an ordinary lemon, cut it into slices, put them on the faucet, and wrap them in plastic wrap. This way, citric acid will directly dissolve the limescale.
