How to whiten old, discolored towels: an inexpensive method

How to quickly bleach towels

Towels usually do not retain their whiteness for long. Constant use and frequent washing cause the fabric to turn gray or even begin to turn yellow.

There is one very simple and effective tool that can help whiten old, faded towels. The Mirror has revealed the details.

In the Facebook community, Mrs. Hinch's fans shared a cheap product that will instantly whiten discolored towels. It's baking soda. Those who have already tried this life hack say that only one wash is enough.

You will need:

  • Baking soda
  • Detergent
  • White vinegar (optional)

Pour warm water into a container, add ½ cup of baking soda, and include detergent. For heavy soiling, you can use a few more tablespoons of vinegar.

The towels should soak in the solution for several hours, then be washed in the usual way and rinsed with cold water. Squeezed lemon juice can be added to the rinse aid.

By the way, a kitchen towel can be washed in the microwave. For 1 liter of water, you will need 100 g of bleach. Soak the towel in a container so that the water does not completely cover it. Cover with a microwave-safe lid and turn on medium power for 10-15 minutes.
