How to use the router without power

To stay connected during power outages, you need to know how to properly connect your router to a power bank. You can do it without any help.

The network explained how to use Wi-Fi without electricity. OBOZREVATEL will tell you how to do it yourself.

Call the provider

You can't do without it. Call the provider's hotline and ask if the cables are connected to an uninterrupted network. We are talking about lines that do not shut down during power outages.

The next important question is: how many volts does the provider's router need to work?

Most Wi-Fi routers operate on 9 or 12 volts. This information, by the way, can be written on the device itself.

How to connect a Wi-Fi router to a power bank

Experts recommend using a special USB cable up to 5.5 mm thick. It must be equipped with triggers to measure the charger voltage up to 12 W.

Insert the cable with the trigger into the router and connect the other end to the power bank.

The Wi-Fi signal should appear in a few minutes.

There is another, more complicated way to connect the router to the power bank.

It requires two 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC USB wires and an optical terminal.

Connect one power bank to the optical terminal with a USB cable, and the other to the Wi-Fi router. Experts say that in this mode, Wi-Fi will work for about 5 hours. But the time, of course, depends on the power of the power banks.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL told how to quickly charge your phone when there is no power. You can use a power bank, laptop, generator, car charger, and wireless speakers.
