How to clean old stains on the sofa: a simple life hack

But you can't just throw the upholstery in the washing machine at any time - you'll have to clean the furniture with a special product. To prepare the product, you need only three simple ingredients:

• water - 1 liter;
• baking soda - 2 tablespoons;
• dishwashing detergent - 2 tablespoons.

It is best to choose a transparent, colorless dishwashing detergent to prepare the mixture, as it will not leave any traces of dye on the fabric. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until the soda is completely dissolved and foam appears.

Before use, it is better to test the resulting liquid on an inconspicuous area of the sofa. It usually leaves no residue during use. If everything is fine, the mixture is gently applied to the stain, avoiding strong moistening of the upholstery, and left to act for 15-20 minutes. After that, brush the stained area from the edges to the center.

Do not rub the stain hard. If the stain is persistent or old, it is better to repeat the treatment several times. As a result, the stain should disappear under the influence of this mixture.

But it is best to remove stains immediately after they appear. In this case, you will need to blot the stained area with a napkin or paper towel, avoiding friction so as not to rub the pollutant into the fibers, and then treat the upholstery with the specified mixture.
