How to clean a shower stall from stains, soap and lime residue: five home methods
Caring for a shower stall is not an easy task for those who love cleanliness. After all, soap stains and limescale accumulate here very strongly. That's why you need to know what home remedies are best for cleaning your shower and other plumbing fixtures.
OBOZREVATEL has collected five simple recipes. Most of the ingredients are inexpensive and can be found in any store or pharmacy.
Vinegar spray
Vinegar can be used to care for plumbing in solution and in its pure form. But it's better to use white vinegar rather than the culinary variety - it won't leave stains or a strong odor. To make a vinegar spray, mix it in equal proportions with water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. All you have to do is spray it on the glass or other surface, leave it on for 30 minutes, and then rinse and wipe the surface dry.
Citric acid
Citric acid is good for removing limescale and can also be used in a spray. To do this, dissolve a sachet of the product in half a liter of water. The method of use is similar to vinegar.
Ammonia
An ammonia solution is a good solution for stubborn stains. To prepare it, add a tablespoon of the product to a liter of water. Apply this liquid with a soft cloth and then wipe the glass or other surface thoroughly.
Hydrogen peroxide
Pharmacy hydrogen peroxide is a good tool not only for cleaning but also for disinfecting plumbing. Apply it undiluted with a cloth, and then wipe the surface well with a dry cloth.
Glycerin glass cleaner
To prevent dirt from collecting on the glass of the shower enclosure for longer, you can treat it with a glycerin-based product. To make it, you need to take
- a glass of water;
- 5 drops of ammonia;
- 0.5 liters of liquid glycerin.
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to get a homogeneous liquid. It is best to apply it to the glass after cleaning. Rub the product thoroughly over the surface. The protective layer will need to be renewed from time to time.
Tips for cleaning bathroom glass
To remove stubborn stains, do not use the hard side of a sponge or metal brush. They will leave visible scratches. It is better to treat the stained area several times in a row.
Microfiber cloths are the best for applying cleaners and polishing glass. They do not leave behind a lint that needs to be removed.
