Easy chocolate cake: made without eggs, milk and butter

Chocolate cake is an elementary dessert for tea that is easy to make with ingredients you have at home. The baking dough can be made with sour cream, milk, or kefir, and topped with cherries, cottage cheese or cottage cheese balls, banana, and nuts.

Food blogger Iryna Kozachuk (irina_kozachuk_) on her Instagram page shared a recipe for a delicious chocolate cake with icing, which is made without eggs and dairy products and can be eaten during Lent.

Chocolate cake recipe without eggs, milk and butter


  • flour - 240 g
  • cocoa - 35 g
  • sugar - 160 g
  • baking powder - 15 g
  • brewed coffee - 200 g
  • orange juice - 100 g
  •  vegetable oil - 70 g
  • zest of 1\2 lemon

For the glaze:

  • dark chocolate - 150g
  • vegetable oil - 30 g
  • walnuts - 50g

Method of preparation:

1. Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder into a bowl, add sugar and mix with a whisk.

2. Pour coffee, juice, oil into the ingredients, add the zest and mix the dough until smooth.

3. Pour the dough into a parchment-lined and oiled baking dish (22-24 cm in diameter). Cover with foil and make holes with a knife. Bake at 180 degrees in the oven for 30 minutes. When ready, let the cake cool completely.

4. For the glaze, melt the chocolate with the butter, stirring constantly. Add chopped nuts and pour the mixture on the cake.
