Disgraced Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin inaugurated a memorial to the liquidated mercenaries of his private military company Wagner at a cemetery in Yekaterinburg. He stated that the former convicts, looters and child murderers allegedly replaced the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and died as heroes.

The footage of Prigozhin's latest cemetery voyage was published on propaganda channels. He noted that Russia is experiencing a "new branch of history" and should honour those who died "in the new war" (to watch the video, scroll to the end).

"Remember them. I think there will be mass graves soon. Those who die in war always die as a hero. One goes under the bullets, while the other does not leave his trench and does not leave the enemy artillery," said the "grave commander".

After the pathos of the memorial's opening ceremony, which lacked only the cutting of the red ribbon, the cameraman showed the expanse of the Wagnerian cemetery. Dozens of new graves can be seen on the site.

Earlier, Prigozhin arrived in the village of Bakinskaya in the Krasnodar Territory to show the cemetery where his mercenaries are buried en masse after they went to fight in Ukraine. "Putin's cook" noted that the number of graves is indeed growing, but "what can you do? This is life".

"Future generations must understand that any war leads to the fact that fighters leave this life and remain with us forever in memory. That's why this cemetery is here. Yes, it is growing. Those who fight sometimes die, that's how life works," he said philosophically.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, another cemetery with buried Wagner mercenaries is located near Irkutsk. According to local residents, there are now almost 70 new graves there.

A secret crypt of Wagnerian graves was also discovered in March in the Sverdlovsk region. Dozens of militants who were killed by the Defence Forces in the winter were buried there.
