For any meat, potatoes and porridge: universal pickled salad for winter from home-grown vegetables

Instead of preserving all the vegetables separately, you can make one versatile salad for the winter. It will be a great addition to any meat, various cereals and potatoes. Or you can eat the canned vegetables as an independent snack.

The idea of preparing a versatile pickled vegetable salad for the winter was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Myroslava (miroslavakrutii). All the vegetables for this preparation are probably found in your garden every year.

Vegetables:

  • 0.5 kg of onions (cut into thin half rings)
  • 0.5 kg of carrots (grated)
  • 0.5 kg of cucumbers
  • 0.5 kg of sweet pepper
  • 0.5 kg of tomatoes

Method of preparation:

1. Put black pepper, allspice, bay leaf on the bottom of the jar.

2. Cut vegetables.

3. Put them in a jar in layers. Put tomatoes on top.

4. Add to each jar:

  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp of vinegar
  • 1 tsp of salt

5. Pour cold water (boiling water is fine).

6. Sterilize for 25-30 minutes from the moment of boiling.

7. Close with metal lids.
