The chairman of the board of the Zenit football club, Alexander Medvedev, has spoken about the difficulties in finding opponents for the Russian national football team. At the October training camp, all teams refused to play with Karpin's team.
Medvedev said that it is allegedly much more difficult to agree on friendly matches at the national team level than at the club level, and that strong teams participate in international competitions.
"It is very difficult to find an opponent of sufficient strength to have not only geopolitical but also sporting significance. It's stupid and wrong to throw stones at the Russian Football Federation, which is trying to do everything to ensure that the national team continues not only to exist but also to play. If someone thinks that we will lie down in a coffin and stab ourselves with lids, this will not happen," Medvedev said in an interview with Metaratings.
Russian fans ridiculed the pathos of their compatriot.

Fans are disappointed with their own officials.
