Jelly wafer roll: how to make a popular dessert
Waffle roll is a dessert familiar to many since childhood. Traditionally, it is made with coconut cream, and graham crackers, and must be supplemented with jelly, or as it was once called, halarette. This roll is very easy to prepare and does not need to be baked at all.
One of the culinary blogs (diali_cooking) published a recipe for a waffle roll with jelly on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- waffle sheets - 4 pcs.
- jelly - 2 p
Cream 1:
- brown cracker - 1 p
- water - 500 ml
- cocoa - 50 g
- sugar - 200 g
Cream 2:
- coconut flakes - 100 g
- boiled milk - 100 ml
- powdered sugar - 100 g
- butter - 300 g
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the jelly, dilute each packet of the mixture with 300 ml of water. Pour the mass into the mold and leave it in the refrigerator until it hardens completely.
2. To make the coconut cream, heat the milk and mix it with the coconut flakes. Leave it until it is completely solidified.
3. Beat the butter with sugar until fluffy, adding the chips.
4. To prepare the chocolate cream, pour water into a saucepan, and add sugar and cocoa. Put on fire and bring the mixture to a boil.
5. When the mass boils, add the crushed crackers. Stir the mixture.
6. Immediately grease the waffle sheets with hot chocolate cream, not reaching the sides (leave 1 cm).
7. When the chocolate cream has hardened, spread the coconut cream.
8. Cut the jelly into strips and place on each sheet.
9. Brush the tip of each waffle with boiling water and wrap it in a roll. Leave in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
