How to salt lard in a jar for the winter: a very simple recipe
Lard can be not only marinated and salted with spices but also canned in jars and stored for the winter. Such a snack, despite the duration of storage, retains its flavor properties and even becomes even tastier.
The Editorial Board of FoodOboz will share with you the easiest recipe for salted lard in a jar, which can be eaten immediately or stored for the winter.
Ingredients:
- bacon - 2 kg
- water - 5 tbsp
- salt - 200 grams
- garlic - 1 head
- bay leaves - 4 pieces
- peppercorns
Method of preparation:
1. First you need to wash bacon, dry it and cut it into small pieces.
2. 2. Peel the garlic and rub the bacon on all sides. If you want, you can grate the vegetable on a grater or crush it through a press.
Pour water into a saucepan, salt, and put it on the fire. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
4. In the prepared jar put the bacon, making layers of pepper and bay leaf.
5. When the jar will be filled with lard, pour the hot brine and cover the jar with a lid. Leave the jar in this form for 3 days, then put it in the fridge for 3-5 days.
6. When the allotted time passes, take out the lard from the jar, rub it with salt and spices, wrap it in a bag, and put it in the refrigerator. In 24 hours the snack will be ready. You can eat it immediately or leave it in the freezer and store it for a long time.
