Pickled herring is an appetizer for any occasion. The main thing is to cook it deliciously. To make the fish rich and spicy, marinate it in mustard sauce.
The idea of cooking pickled herring in mustard sauce was published on the Instagram page of food bloggers Yulia and Inna (simeynuyblog). It is best to marinate the fish overnight, but it can be eaten in a few hours.
Ingredients:
- 2 herrings
- 2 medium onions
Ingredients for the sauce:
- 50 g of grainy mustard
- 30 g of strong mustard
- 15 g of honey
- 30 g of vinegar
- 100 g of vegetable oil
- 0.5 tsp. turmeric
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the herring.
2. Cut into pieces.
3. Cut the onion into half rings.
4. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce.
5. Put the herring and onion in the casserole.
6. Put in the refrigerator for several hours (preferably overnight).
