Ukrainian-style lard spread: cooked with spices, garlic and dill
Lard is an ideal product for making delicious appetizers and spreads. Lard spreads are very simple and quick to prepare, with garlic, dill, and spices adding an original flavor.
Lard appetizer
Cook Olena shared a recipe for lard spread with spices, garlic, and dill on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- lard - 1 kg.
- garlic - 6-7 cloves.
- turmeric - 1 tsp.
- paprika - 1 tsp.
- black pepper - 0.5 tsp.
- dill - 2 tbsp. l.
Method of preparation:
1. Remove the skin from the lard, cut it, and pass it through a meat grinder.

2. Divide the prepared mixture into 4 portions, add spices, dill, garlic to each.

3. Put cling film in a baking dish and layer the spread with different flavors.

4. Put in the freezer, then cut into slices and eat with bread.
