The most delicious rustic potatoes: what is the secret of crispy crust
Real rustic potatoes cannot be simply fried in a frying pan or baked in the oven. To get a crispy crust on top and a soft center, you need to do one simple trick. For this, you need boiling water.
The idea of cooking crispy potatoes in a rustic way was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Victoriia with the nickname viktoria__cooking. Raw sliced pieces should be poured with boiling water before baking.
Ingredients:
- 2 kg of potatoes
- 2 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 2 tsp. sweet paprika
- 1.5 tsp. dried garlic
- 3-4 tbsp of cornstarch
- 3 tbsp. oil
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the potatoes very well and cut them into 4-6 slices.
2. Pour boiling water, cover with cling film, and leave for 20 minutes.
3. After that, dry the potatoes very well with a paper towel.
4. Add salt, pepper, sweet paprika, dried garlic, starch, oil and mix very well.
5. Put on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
6. Bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes.
