Meat jelly or kholodets is not only a traditional dish for Christmas but also a decoration of any other holiday table. It is a very nutritious and joint-friendly dish, which helps to saturate the body with the nutrients it needs.
Unfortunately, jellied meat on the tables of Ukrainian families most often appears on holidays, because it takes a long time to prepare this dish. But recently, a food blogger with the nickname ruslanagurtovaya shared a recipe on Instagram that can make jelly a regular everyday dish.
Ingredients:
- Chicken drumsticks - 5 pieces
- Carrots - 1 pc
- Salt
- Bay leaf
- Peppercorns
- Garlic - 8 cloves
- Gelatin - 25 grams
- Quail eggs - optional
- Greens - optional
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the drumsticks with carrots, add salt and spices.
2. Separate the meat from the bones and strain the broth.
3. Add the garlic to both the broth and the meat.
4. Dissolve gelatin according to the instructions on the package and add to the broth.
5. Chop the meat, eggs, and carrots and put them on serving plates.
6. Pour the broth over everything and refrigerate until it is completely frozen.
