Mackerel is often baked and smoked. But a win-win option is to make this fish lightly salted. It turns out to be very spicy and rich. It's perfect with mashed potatoes.
The idea of cooking delicious lightly salted mackerel was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Tatiana Riabokin (mama_na_kykhne). You won't want to buy such fish in the store anymore.
Ingredients:
- mackerel - 2 pieces
- sugar - 80 g
- salt - 80 g
- water - 1 liter
- bay leaves - 2-3 pcs
- peppercorns - 10 pcs
- vinegar - 90 ml
- vegetable oil - 200+ ml
Method of preparation:
1. Put water with sugar, salt, vinegar, and spices on fire.
2. Bring to a boil.
3. Leave to cool.
4. Rinse the mackerel and cut into 2-3 cm pieces.
5. Put the mackerel in the chilled marinade for 5-6 hours or best overnight.
6. Then put the mackerel in a tray tightly and pour oil over.
7. You can eat it in 2 hours.
