The most delicious herring forshmak: do not forget one important ingredient
Forshmak is a very light and nutritious herring appetizer. It can be called a real calling card of Odesa. And in order to make such a spread at home, be sure to add one simple ingredient that greatly affects the taste.
The idea of cooking the most delicious Odesa forshmak was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Natalia (natalibegunova). A green apple adds a special flavor to this dish.
Ingredients:
- herring fillet - 700 g
- onion - 2 pcs.
- green apples - 1 pc.
- butter - 150 g
- lemon juice - 1 tbsp
- ground black pepper - to taste
- egg - 4 pcs.
- mustard - 1 tbsp
- sugar - 1 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Pass herring fillet through a meat grinder.
2. Boil eggs, peel and separate the yolks from the whites.
3. Add sugar and lemon to the yolks and mash.
4. Add the resulting mass to the minced herring.
5. Pass the minced meat through a meat grinder again along with the onion and apple.
6. Add mustard, pepper and oil and mix well. Finely chop the egg whites and add them to the minced herring.
