Simple minced meat pie without baking
If you want to quickly prepare a hearty snack for the whole family, this pie is the perfect option. You don't even need to turn on the oven because everything is cooked in a frying pan. It's also very budget-friendly.
The idea of making a simple pie in a frying pan was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Iryna (iriska_dimitrova).
Ingredients for the filling:
- 400-500 g minced meat
- 2-3 tbsp of oil
- 1 small onion
- half a small carrot
- salt, pepper, paprika to taste
- 120-150 g of cheese
Ingredients for the batter:
- 3 eggs
- 0.5 tsp of salt
- 1 glass of kefir (250 ml)
- 180 g of flour (may take more/less, look at the consistency)
- 0.5 tsp baking powder
Method of preparation:
1. Finely chop onion and fry until transparent in a little oil. Add grated carrots and fry everything together until golden brown. Add minced meat and mix, breaking it into small lumps. Add salt, pepper and paprika and simmer until almost all the moisture has evaporated. Be sure not to overdo it.
2. For the batter, add salt to eggs, beat until smooth, pour in kefir and mix well. Mix flour with baking powder, sift and make stir the batter.
3. Push the minced meat slightly away from the walls of the pan to form the sides. Pour the batter over the minced meat, level it with a spoon if necessary, and cover with a lid. Cook over very low heat, periodically wiping the condensation from the lid.
4. When the batter is ready and it stops sticking (about 15-20 minutes), turn the cake over with a plate.
5. Put the pie in the frying pan with the batter down, sprinkle with grated cheese, cover and cook for another 5-7 minutes over low heat.
6. Garnish with greens if desired.
