Salted caramel at home: how to replace milk in dessert
Salted caramel is a real find in any kitchen. It can be used as a sauce for pancakes, or added to coffee, ice cream, and pastries. Interestingly, to prepare such an original dessert, you will need only affordable ingredients, and the cooking process will take no more than 20 minutes.
Food blogger Nataliia Ozirenska (natalyaozirenska) shared a recipe for salted caramel on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- sugar – 225 g
- butter – 70 g
- cream 33% – 200 g
- water – 65 ml
- salt
Method of preparation:
1. In a saucepan with a thick bottom pour the sugar and water. Leave the mass to boil. There is no need to stir it.
2. Meanwhile, slightly heat the cream.
3. Add the cream to the caramel as soon as it starts to turn amber. Stir constantly with a spatula. Remove from the heat as soon as the mass becomes homogeneous.
4. Add the butter and mix well.
5. When the consistency is homogeneous, add salt.
6. Pour the caramel into any jar and store it in the refrigerator.
