Mackerel is often marinated with juicy onions and spices. But it is very tasty to use not the white part of the vegetable, but the husk. It makes a rich spicy marinade for fish.

The idea of cooking pickled mackerel was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Diana with the nickname diana_diana0910. In addition to the onion, you need to use spices and black tea.

Ingredients:

  • mackerel - 1 pc.
  • water - 500 ml.
  • peppercorns - 10 pcs.
  • bay leaves - 1 pc.
  • allspice - 1 pc.
  • cloves - 1 pc.
  • sugar - 1 tsp.
  • salt - 1 tbsp
  • black tea - 1 cup
  • onion peel - a handful

Method of preparation:

1. For the marinade, combine water, salt, sugar, bay leaves, peppercorns, allspice, onion peel, tea.

2. Bring to a boil.

3. Cook for 4 minutes over medium heat.

4. Cool the marinade and strain.

5. Meanwhile, remove the fins, head, tail, and intestines from the mackerel.

6. Rinse under running water.

7. Dry with paper towels.

8. Send the fish to a convenient dish.

9. Pour cold marinade over the fish.

10. Cover and refrigerate for 3 days.

11. Turn the fish over 1-2 times daily.
