The Sun, an American online publication, has shared how to properly boil and cut mashed potatoes.

To make delicious mashed potatoes, you need:

1. Cut the potatoes into equal circles.

2. Put the potatoes in cold water first, and then bring to a boil.

3. Steam the potatoes after boiling, leaving them in a colander with a towel on top.

4. Salt the potatoes while they are still raw.

Also, cream or milk should be heated before adding. And to make mashed potatoes of the perfect consistency, you need to grind the potatoes, not mash them.
