Food
Never store these foods in the refrigerator: the reasons
You can't do without a refrigerator at home. This appliance is great for long-term storage of food. However, there are some foods for which you should choose a different place in the kitchen.
Nutritionist Natalia Hrechaniuk (nataliia_hrechaniuk) shared a list of foods that should not be put in the refrigerator on her Instagram page. You will only spoil it.
Bananas
At low temperatures, they not only darken and acquire an unpleasant flavor but also spoil the food that is nearby
Pumpkin
They can be perfectly stored in the pantry or in a drawer in the kitchen. However, cold temperatures and lack of air lead to softness of the fruit and mold growth.
Tomatoes and eggplants
When exposed to low temperatures, these vegetables stop ripening, become softer and lose their flavor. They are best stored at room temperature.
Onions
Humidity in the refrigerator can increase the risk of mold growth. Store them in a dry and ventilated place.
Olive oil
Possible consequences: deterioration of taste (starts to taste bitter) and appearance of a white sediment. Store oil in a dark place at room temperature.
Honey
It does not require refrigeration. Just put a lid on it and store it in the cupboard. For flavor and consistency, this is the best solution.
Potatoes and carrots
In the refrigerator, these foods begin to sprout, rot, and form mold. The best way to store these vegetables is in a ventilated wooden box, on top of paper, or in the pantry.
Chocolate
Low temperature and humidity cause white coating on the tiles, condensation, and loss of flavor.
Bread
Humidity in the refrigerator can make bread sticky. Alternatively, you can freeze the product.
Open canned food
It is dangerous to store open tin cans in the refrigerator. The metal oxidizes and gets into the food. Therefore, after opening the tin, its contents must be transferred to glass or plastic dishes
