Never do this: what can ruin yeast dough
Even if you have correctly calculated the proportions of all the ingredients for the dough and kneaded it well, it, may not rise and the cooked products turn out to be tasteless. There are many reasons for this phenomenon.
That's why FoodOboz editorial team will tell you about them, as well as how you can save the dough that hasn't risen.
Reasons why yeast dough does not rise
After kneading the dough, it is placed in a cold place to make the texture elastic. Very often, the freezer is the place of choice, but this is actually a big mistake. The dough should be put in the refrigerator, specifically in the coldest part of it.
In addition, you need to take into account that the action of yeast does not stop but simply slows down. Therefore, you should not keep the mixed mass in the refrigerator for too long because it will fall off and simply spoil. It should be no more than 15-16 hours.
If the dough has already started to rise, you can put it in the refrigerator for only 4-5 hours. And if it is completely ready for baking, it should never be refrigerated.
What will help save yeast dough that hasn't risen
Dough that does not rise can still be saved. To do this, make a new dough and wait until it starts working. Then add it to the previous dough. Knead the dough again and leave it in a warm place for an hour and a half. However, if the yeast is not of good quality, the second dough will not help either.
Another way is to put the dough in the oven and place a baking sheet with hot water on the bottom. The steam will help the yeast to work more actively.
