How to cook ham in a jar: it can be stored for a long time
Ham can be stored for a very long time without losing its quality. To do this, it needs to be put in a jar. One of the main ingredients is salt, not just any salt but nitrate salt.
The idea of cooking ham in a jar was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Inna (innakluchnik31). The meat can be used for sandwiches and other dishes.
Take the following ingredients:
- meat - 1 kg
- nitrite salt - 10 g
- common salt - 10 g
Cooking method:
1. Cut meat into cubes and season with salt.
2. Put in the refrigerator for 1 day.
3. After a day, grind 1/4 of this meat in a meat grinder and add:
- ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp.
- ground coriander - 0.5 tsp.
- dry garlic - 0.5 tsp.
- cream - 200 g
Continue cooking:
1. Both meat and cream should be very cold at all stages.
2. Mix everything to a homogeneous, viscous mass.
3. Put tightly into the jars.
4. Put in a saucepan and cover with water.
5. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 hours.
6. Let it stand in the refrigerator.
