Homemade buns are flavorful pastries whose taste is hard to match. They are fluffy, airy, and soft. And that's exactly how they turn out when you make them from yeast dough.

Food blogger Natalia Zhuk  (nataliia.zhuk) shared a recipe for vanilla buns on her TikTok page, based on the simplest yeast dough with milk.

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • warm milk - 300 ml
  • sugar - 2 tbsp.
  • dry yeast - 1 tsp.
  • flour - 100 g

The dough:

  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • sugar - 100 g
  • flour - 450 g
  • salt - 0.5 tsp.
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.

Additionally:

  • sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • vanilla sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • butter - 50 g

Method of preparation:

1. Mix warm milk, 2 tbsp of sugar, dry yeast, and 100 g of flour. Stir, cover with cling film, and leave for 15 minutes.

2. Mix sugar and eggs separately. Add the resulting mass to the ready-made dough, and add flour and salt. Start kneading the dough.

3. Add the oil and knead the soft dough. Put it in a bowl greased with oil, cover with cling film, and leave for 40 minutes.

4. Divide the dough into 12 pieces and form balls, cover them with a towel to prevent them from drying out.

5. Mix sugar and vanilla sugar separately, and melt the butter.

6. Roll out each ball of dough in the form of a medium circle, grease with butter, and sprinkle with sugar mass. Make cuts along the entire diameter of the dough, not reaching the sides, wrap it in a roll, and secure the two ends. Put the buns on the parchment and leave for another 10 minutes.

7. Brush the buns with a mixture of egg yolk and milk, and sprinkle with almond flakes if desired. Bake at 170 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
