Expert names the most dangerous way to cook potatoes
Frying is the worst way to cook food, especially potatoes. When heated above 120 degrees, the carcinogen acrylamide is formed from potato starch.
Nutritionist Alina shared how not to cook potatoes on Instagram. This also applies to other vegetables so that they do not become dangerous.
"The darker the color of the crust, the more harmful it is," the expert replied.
The nutritionist added that instead of fried potatoes, it is better to cook mashed potatoes, which, although not very healthy, are still better than fried potatoes.
"It's a food for pleasure because potatoes crushed to this state contain almost no nutrients for the body, and adding sour cream/milk and butter to them significantly increases their caloric content," the nutritionist said.
The best way to eat potatoes is baking and boiling
"The perfect combination is baked or boiled potatoes in their skin with herring and sauerkraut. A simple, incredibly tasty and healthy Ukrainian dish. In terms of quantity and frequency of consumption, the recommended portion is 200-250 grams several times a week," the expert summarized.
