If you want your homemade cabbage rolls to be juicy and tasty, make them with Chinese cabbage, which is softer and juicier and cooks faster. For the filling, you can use minced meat and vegetables.

Chef Hector Jimenez-Bravo shared a recipe for very soft, juicy, and tasty cabbage rolls with Chinese cabbage on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • Chinese cabbage – 1 pc
  • Minced chicken – 400 g
  • Boiled rice – 200 g
  • Mushrooms – 200 g
  • Carrots – 1 pc
  • Onion – 1 pc
  • Tomato paste – 50 g
  • Water – 100 ml
  • Salt/pepper – to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Cut off the bottom of the cabbage and boil the cabbage for 2 minutes.

2. Chop and fry the mushrooms. Then mix the minced meat, rice, mushrooms, salt and pepper.

3. Disassemble the cabbage into leaves, and beat off the bottom part. Put minced meat on each leaf and form cabbage rolls.

4. Chop the onion, grate, and fry the carrots.

5. Spread the roast on the bottom of the pan, put the cabbage rolls on top, and pour the tomato paste and water, simmer for 15 minutes.
