What should you add to your washing machine to preserve the colour of your clothes: 3 tips

Many people are disappointed by the fact that coloured clothes fade after washing, which makes them lose their attractiveness. To preserve the colour of your clothes, you don't need to use expensive products; there are simple products that can help you do this, such as vinegar, lemon juice and brewing tea.

The Polish publication Interia Porady has shared how to preserve the intense colour of your clothes after repeated washing. There are three natural remedies that should be added to the washing machine to protect your clothes from shedding.

Vinegar

Vinegar is a universal tool that has a wide range of applications not only in cooking. It is thanks to it that you can remove grease and dirt even on fabrics.

If you want to preserve the colour of your clothes, it is recommended to soak them in a 1:1 solution of water and vinegar before putting them in the washing machine. Then wash them as usual.

You can also add this product along with the washing powder. The vinegar will not only get rid of limescale and sediment in the drum, but also prevent clothes from becoming electrified.

Lemon juice

Lemon is best consumed with tea. However, it also finds interesting applications, for example, in cleaning. Many smart housewives use lemon juice when they want to get rid of limescale in the bathroom. It will also become a reliable assistant during washing.

If our white clothes have lost their attractiveness, soak them for several hours in water with lemon juice or lemon slices. Such a "bath" will help whiten things and emphasise the colour of the fabric.

If you want to enhance the effect, pour the juice of the whole fruit into the powder container of the washing machine.

Tea

Tea leaves will be an ideal assistant in washing black clothes. After all, strong tea essence can restore the colour of dark clothes by several tones.

To do this, just add a whole glass of strong black tea to the last stage of the washing programme in the washing machine.
