On Tuesday, May 7, the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 took place in Malmö, Sweden, where the first 10 participants who will perform in the grand final were selected. Among them were many of those predicted by bookmakers, including Croatia, which has been at the top of the ranking since May 2. Baby Lasagna's chances of winning the crystal microphone are steadily increasing and now stand at 36%.
Yesterday, an hour before the first semifinal, this figure was 35%, and at 10:30 am it was only 29%. It seems that bookmakers have already chosen their favorite, and the possibility of getting the last place in the grand final based on the results of the jury and viewers' voting is almost non-existent (less than 1%), just like in Ukraine. Ukraine still holds the 4th place in the overall ranking of the finalists, although the probability of winning has decreased to 8%, as opposed to 10% half a day before the first semifinal, where Jerry Heil and alyona alyona performed at number 5 and even made it to the grand final with the song Teresa & Maria. Although the singers' odds dropped, the bet of one of the major bookmakers BET365 increased by almost half.
The second place in the overall ranking for the winner is still occupied by Switzerland, whose representative will perform in the second semifinal. Today, its odds have increased by 2% since yesterday and amount to 17%. Third place goes to Italy, whose odds remained unchanged at 10%, although it is not known whether this figure will change after Angelina Mango's performance in the second semifinal on May 9.

The ratios of the participants in the top 10 ranking have also changed. Croatia, which tops the list, has 84%, Ukraine, which follows it, has 81%, and Switzerland, which rounds out the top three, has 79%. Back on May 7, these figures were 79%, 78%, and 76%, respectively.

The order of places of the countries that, according to bookmakers, will be among the five with the highest scores based on the results of the jury and viewers' voting remained unchanged, with only the betting odds changing. The list is still headed by Croatia, which performed the powerful song Rim Tim Tagi Dim in the first semifinal.

As for the second semifinal, the Netherlands and Switzerland share the top spot. Both countries have a 93% chance of winning. They are not far behind Greece and Israel (3rd and 4th places), which have 89% odds.
Bookmakers predict the elimination of Denmark, Albania, San Marino, Latvia, the Czech Republic, and Malta. All of them have less than a 50% chance of being among the ten countries that will join the winners of the first semifinal in the grand final.
