The royal family celebrated Prince George's 6th birthday on a private island: details of an elite vacation have surfaced
Soon, the son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, George, will celebrate his birthday. On July 22, he will turn 11 years old. For many years, the boy has celebrated his birthday in true royal style, and the details of his 6th birthday are still being discussed online.
And although William and Kate prefer quiet parties surrounded by their closest relatives, 2019 was an exception to the rule, HELLO writes. The little prince celebrated his sixth birthday in luxury when his birthday coincided with a family vacation.
After traveling to Jordan, the royal family vacationed on the Caribbean island of Mustique. The monarchs reportedly stayed in a luxury villa for 27 thousand pounds per week (about 1.5 million hryvnias). That's why William and Kate published a photo from the vacation as George's official portrait to congratulate their son.
A stunning four-bedroom property, Villa Antilles, owned by William's friend, Andrew Dunn, boasts an 18-meter infinity pool, Jacuzzi, private staff, and incredible sea views of the neighboring islands of Bequia and St. Vincent. The children's room is furnished with two nautical-style bunk beds, including murals of whales on the walls.
There is a strict no-fly zone on the island, which ensures complete privacy for guests and residents. Last year, William and Kate were also joined by the princess's parents, Carol and Michael Middleton, for a family vacation.
Interestingly, Mustique is not only loved by the Welsh. Queen Elizabeth II's sister, the late Princess Margaret, was a regular visitor to the island. The husband of her lady-in-waiting Lady Anne Glenconner, Lord Glenconner, gave Margaret a plot of land where she built a five-bedroom villa called Les Jolies Eaux (French for beautiful waters).
After Margaret's marriage to photographer Anthony Armstrong-Jones fell apart, Mustique became a refuge for the royal family and a hideaway from excessive attention. In 1996, the princess gave the property to her son David Linley as a wedding gift. He later sold the villa in 1999 for £2.4 million (27 million hryvnias) to American businessman Jim Murray. Now the five-bedroom house overlooking the Caribbean Sea can be rented for about 25,500 pounds (1.3 million hryvnias) per week.
