Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina attended a concert by Ukrainian singer Svitlana Loboda in Jurmala, Latvia, and thanked her for her work. The official called the artist "the voice of Ukraine," but she sang her Russian-language songs in the original.

Silina shared a memorable photo from the concert on Instagram. The event took place at the Dzintari concert hall, where shortly before the performance, Ukrainian Laima Vaikule held her pop music festival.

"Thank you, Svitlana Loboda, for your energetic concert at the Dzintari Concert Hall. The voice of Ukraine has a special melody in Latvia," the prime minister captioned the photo.

She decided to take the picture in black and white. Svitlana Loboda was wearing a light two-piece suit, and Evika Silina was wearing a dark, voluminous dress.

The Ukrainian also posted this photo on her page and thanked the Latvian Prime Minister for helping her homeland. "Thank you for coming and thank you for supporting Ukraine!" she wrote.

It is known that Svitlana Loboda has several songs in Ukrainian in her repertoire: "Mentor," "Kyiv-Nice," "Spogady," "In Ukrainian," "Two Strangers," and "Prayer." Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the singer has switched to Ukrainian, but in December 2023, she released a song called "Metelytsia" which confused many listeners because of the Russian language. Later, Loboda explained that she did not consider it an enemy language: "It's not the language that kills Ukrainian children and people."
