One served in the US Army, the other chose Moscow: what is known about Putinist Shufutinsky's sons and why he avoids political topics

Shufutinsky has two sons and 7 grandchildren

For some reason, the 75-year-old Russian chansonier Mikhail Shufutinsky, who is a fan of the "Crimea is ours" and is listed in the Myrotvorets database, has no sons fighting on the side of the Russian army. David, a 51-year-old Russian with a "primordially Russian" name, is doing time in Moscow, while his 49-year-old brother Anton lives in "unfriendly" America.

The younger heir to the performer is also an officer in the U.S. Army and was a military doctor for many years. They prefer to keep their political views to themselves as they are raising 7 children together, not all of whom want to live in Russia.

Only the grandfather still pretends to be a "patriot" of Russia, although he does not actively support the so-called "SMO". Shufutynsky is listed in the Myrotvorets database as a person who entered the territory of the occupied Crimea to earn money.

Even after the full-scale attack, he ignored the Kremlin's criminal policy. Only once did the artist attack the propagandists when they asked the celebrity what he thought about the war.

"Why touch me? I am a citizen of my country. I live in my city. I speak my own language. I don't just speak, I think in Russian. I love my life. That's all I need. What else do you need in life? There is nothing else. It is coming to an end," the Putinist said in 2022.

Until recently, he was silent about his children because the fact that his youngest son lived in the United States would have to be explained to the Z-patriots, who eventually forced the chanson to answer it. The artist revealed that he was against his youngest son's service in the army, but a certain "recruiter who brainwashed them" allegedly forced Anton Shufutynsky to join the Navy SEALs.

"We thought Anton would go to medical school, but he suddenly came and said, 'I want to join the army'. A recruiter appeared to brainwash them, an officer in good shape. I asked him why he had made this decision, and my son said, 'I want to prove to everyone and myself that I am a real man.' I realized that the recruiter had brainwashed my son," the singer justified himself.

Anyway, Anton Shufutynsky helped American soldiers for many years. He also managed a department of a pharmaceutical company for some time, became a lecturer at the University of Philadelphia, defended his doctorate and started a family with an American woman.

A little less is known about your eldest son. He was born in Magadan but went to California to study. In his youth, David returned to Russia and tried his hand at acting and producing. Needless to say, his career did not work out.

Even Shufutinsky's 22-year-old grandson has become more successful than his father. David's son Noah is the "pride" of the chansonier. Under the stage name Westside Gravy, he raps in English and Hebrew and lives in the United States.

Shufutinsky said that he financially supported Noah's work, but was not ready to sing with him. By the way, the performer also loves his youngest granddaughter, Hannah, but it seems that he loved her only until she was 6 years old as it was at this age that her grandfather took the girl from sunny California and sent her to school in Russia.
