Ukrainian singer Arsen Mirzoyan has announced the cause of death of his mother-in-law, People's Artist Nina Matvienko. The legendary "Flower of the Soul" hid her illness for a long time.
However, according to Mirzoyan, she was fighting cancer. The singer shared the details in an interview with Slava Demin on the host's Slava+ YouTube show.
The artist said that it was hard to see Nina Mitrofanovna in such a state. The singer was in the hospital for about a month. At first, he says, she only let her daughter and granddaughters come to her, and then everyone who could came to see her: they had to bring her medicine or just talk to her (to see the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

Arsen Mirzoyan emphasized that Nina Matvienko did not want to look weak, so she never complained. "And then something suddenly made her sick. We did not understand what it could be," he explained, adding that the family could not realize the seriousness of the situation.

The guest noted that the artist considered herself a healthy person and, when persuaded by her family to undergo a medical examination, said she felt fine. "She was always on diets, always led a healthy lifestyle," he added.
