How to remove yellowing from a shirt collar: a useful trick

Antigrease liquid, baking soda and peroxide together will bring back the whiteness of a shirt collar

The white shirt is one of the most effective elements of the basic closet. With it you can assemble a lot of stylish images. But many of us are afraid to have this item in our closet. And the reason for that is the mess with the collar, which even after one wear can turn yellow because of constant contact with the skin. The same problem may befall the cuffs.

Often machine wash is not able to cope with such stains, and manual wash with friction can damage the fabric. However, the way to cope with such stains still exists. OBOZREVATEL tells about it in detail.

We are talking about homemade washing paste, which combines the effects of various detergents. To make it, you will need:

  • Dishwashing liquid - 1 teaspoon;
  • Pharmacy hydrogen peroxide - 3 teaspoons;
  • Baking soda - 2 tablespoons.

All ingredients should be thoroughly mixed to get a homogeneous product in the form of a liquid paste. To deal with stains on the collar and cuffs of a white shirt, apply the paste to the soiled area and leave it to work for 20-30 minutes. During this time, it should delicately dissolve the dirt and whiten the fabric.

The dishwashing liquid in the paste will destroy the grease in the fibers, the baking soda will be an effective stain remover, and the peroxide will work as a mild bleach. After this combined treatment, the shirt only needs to be washed in the normal way.
