How to clean bathroom sealant from mould: an affordable way

Sealant often suffers from mould growth

No matter how tightly you seal the bathtub rim, it is likely that you will not be able to protect it from mould. Microscopic fungal spores like to settle in this material and manifest themselves as ugly black spots, which are also dangerous to health. That's why it's important to know how to clean bathroom sealant from mould.

Of course, you can buy a factory-made chlorine-based product, but it is criticised for being quite aggressive and toxic, and often just discolours the stain rather than removing it. OBOZREVATEL has collected several home recipes that should eliminate fungal damage effectively and without store-bought chemicals.

Hydrogen peroxide

Peroxide can cope with the problem even in pharmacy concentration. Just pour the liquid on the areas where mould has appeared on the sealant and leave it to act for 15 minutes. Afterwards, rinse the treated area with water and wipe it thoroughly with a paper towel to remove any remaining mould, if any.

Vinegar

Acetic acid is also quite effective against mould in the bathroom. Only the vinegar will need to be left to act for a longer time. You may also need 2-3 treatments. Also, pour ordinary food vinegar on the stain. And do not spare the product, because it should work for an hour - preferably, it should not dry out during this time. After that, the contaminated area should also be rinsed with water and wiped dry.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL talked about non-obvious signs that you have mould in your home.
