Nemo
Nemo Matler (known as Nemo ) is a rapper, singer and musician from Switzerland. He will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song The Code. Asks to refer to himself by his first name, using the pronoun they/them.
Brief biography
Nemo Matler was born on August 3, 1999.
Besides singing, Nemo also skillfully use musical instruments: they play violin, piano and drums.
They achieved their first success already at the age of 16 with the release of the EP Clownfisch. Subsequent musical works only confirmed their star status.
In 2021-2022, Mattler were contestants on The Masked Singer Switzerland show, where they placed fifth.
Eurovision 2024.
In February 2024, Nemo with the song The Code were announced as Switzerland's representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. They will perform in the second semi-final of the contest, which will take place on May 9.
Personal life
In November 2023, Mattler came out as a non-binary person. In an article for SonntagsZeitung, they stated that they prefer to be addressed by their first name while using the gender-neutral they/them.
What the song Nemo The Code is about
The song Nemo The Code was selected for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR) and released on February 29, 2024.
Nemo describe their song as an experience of coming to terms with a non-binary identity. Along with Nemo, it was co-written by three other collaborators.
In press statements, Nemo stated that the song details their realization of their non-binary identity, claiming that the realization that they are non-binary has given them "freedom" and that by entering the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, they can stand up for the entire LGBT+ community.
According to Nemo, when they recognized that they didn't "feel like a man or a woman ... They had to break some codes."

As of early April 2024, Nemo with the song The Code are the bookies' favorites to win Eurovision 2024.
