A tourist from Russia undressed on a sacred mountain in Bali boasted of a racy photo online: he's now complaining of threats. Video
A blogger from Russia, Yuri Chilikin, pulled a stupid prank on the island of Bali (Indonesia). He was photographed with his bottom exposed on the sacred Mount Agung, offending local residents.
The "joker" tried to avoid the scandal by closing his page on the social network, but it did not help. Now the Russian complains about threats against him (to watch the video, scroll to the end).
The tourist took an offensive photo without pants when he went on a volcano tour with a group of other vacationers. He posted the image online on March 19.
Local activists noticed the photo and caused a scandal. Chilikin's prank became known to many Indonesian online publics, and the media wrote about it.
The Russian had to make excuses. He claims that he did not think it would offend anyone.
The citizen of the aggressor country said he was "shocked and horrified". Allegedly, he simply "misunderstood the interpretation" of the volcano's symbolism.
"Of course, I didn't know that this is one of the holiest places on the island of Bali," the tourist admitted. He apologized and said he was ready to redeem himself with money.
As OBOZREVATEL earlier reported, Russian journalist Sergei Kanev complained that he was refused service in a Ukrainian restaurant in Warsaw. The reason was the fact that he is a citizen of the aggressor state.
