The White House made an important statement about providing Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets

The USA has said that US-made F-16 fighter jets are likely to be transferred to Ukraine by European countries. This requires Washington's permission for re-export.

The corresponding statement was made by the White House on July 12. It is about European countries that have F-16 airplanes, but there are no specifics on this issue yet.

We remind you that on July 11, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the heads of 11 Western countries signed a memorandum on the creation of a coalition to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16.

The exercises will begin in late July - early August this year, the Defense Ministry said. The first to start training will be 20 Ukrainian pilots in the UK.

In addition to Ukraine, the coalition includes Denmark, Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and Canada. Most likely, the countries that will eventually hand over the F-16s to the AFU Air Force are on the list.

The head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Oleksiy Reznikov also reported that the coalition is ready to consider sending our country other types of aircraft.

As OBOZREVATEL wrote, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba earlier said that if training begins in August, the first F-16s are likely to appear in the Ukrainian skies by the end of the first quarter of 2024. However, he warned that the schedule could shift due to a large number of nuances.
