Satellite images of the burning oil depot in the temporarily occupied Feodosia in Crimea have been posted online. The fire at the facility, which was hit by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the night of October 7, continued to rage on October 8.

As of the morning of October 9, the occupiers had still not managed to extinguish the fire. The Crimean Wind Telegram channel reports on the situation.

According to satellite images from October 8, the oil depot continued to burn on the second day after the strike. In particular, the burning was recorded by satellites as of 11:44 a.m.

Moreover, the occupiers still have not managed to extinguish the fire as of the morning of October 9 as NASA satellites continue to record the burning.

"The wind has turned toward the sea. The length of the plume is 54 km. It is not thick, probably gasoline or kerosene is burning... Yesterday, our sources reported that a kerosene tanker was burning at an oil depot in Feodosia," Crimean Wind writes.

On the morning of the third day of the fire, residents of Feodosia can see the column of smoke that still rises above the damaged oil depot. The night before, a gasoline tanker exploded there, followed by a kerosene one. It is the latter that produces light-colored smoke when burning, Crimean Wind reports.

As reported, on the morning of October 7, it became known that the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the offshore oil terminal in Feodosia. It is the largest in Crimea in terms of transshipment of oil products, which are used, among other things, to meet the needs of the Russian occupation army.

After the attack, a massive fire broke out at the facility as a result of a tanker explosion. Later, another one exploded there.

According to the occupation authorities, about a thousand people were evacuated from Feodosia.

The oil depot was destroyed by missile units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces.
