Delicious walnut sponge cake: how to prepare successful batter
Sponge cake is the basis of many popular desserts. It doesn't take much time to prepare a fluffy and airy dish. All you need to do is to top the cakes with delicate cream and chocolate.
The idea of making a walnut sponge cake was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yana with the nickname droboshevska y. The dessert should be eaten right after impregnation.
Ingredients for the sponge cake:
- eggs - 4 pcs
- sugar - 120 g
- flour - 115 g
- baking powder - 5 g
- vanillin
- walnuts - 60 g
- salt - a pinch
Ingredients for the cream:
- cream cheese - 250 g
- boiled condensed milk - 300 g
- sour cream - 50 g
- chocolate - 90 g
- milk - 30 g
- walnuts - 40 g
- milk for impregnation
Method of preparation:
1. Roast the peeled nuts at 180 degrees for 15 minutes and then chop them a little.
2. For the sponge cake, separate 4 egg whites from the yolks.
3. Beat the whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks, gradually adding sugar and vanilla.
4. When the meringue is ready, add 1 egg yolk and beat a little more.
5. Add flour and baking powder to this mixture. Mix gently until smooth.
6. Add most of the nuts and mix well.
7. Pour the mixture into the mold and bake at 160 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cut the finished, cooled sponge cake into 3 cakes.
8. For the cream, combine cream cheese, sour cream and boiled condensed milk. Beat until smooth.
9. Layer the dessert: sponge cake, milk impregnation, and cream. Repeat three times.
10. Melt the chocolate with milk, stir until smooth and pour it over the cake. Sprinkle with nuts and serve.
