The star of "Dracula" and "The Hobbit" Luke Evans recorded an inspiring appeal to Ukrainians: "you are our brothers and sisters". Video
Luke Evans, a popular Welsh actor and singer, well-known for his role as Bard the Bowman in the second and third films of Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit", as well as for the films "Dracula," "Beauty and the Beast" and many others, recorded an inspiring address to the Ukrainian people. In his moving and powerful speech, he assured that he has supported and will continue to support Ukrainians who are fighting for their independence while facing a "horrible and pointless" war.
Evans has shown his solidarity with the Ukrainian people since the first days of the large-scale invasion. His address, which was made public on the UNITED24 fundraising platform Telegram channel, was further evidence of this (to see the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).
"I watched with pain and anguish what you all had to endure in the last year. You are our brothers and sisters. And although I am very far away, I want you to know that I stand by you all. I want this horrible and pointless war to end as much as you do. You are not alone. We have not forgotten you. The world has not forgotten you. And we stand shoulder to shoulder with you - all in the hope that this will come to an end," the actor started.
The star thanked the Ukrainians for showing the world true strength, unity, and solidarity.
Evans added: "I cannot imagine having to leave my home, in the middle of winter, with clothes on my back, with my children and my pets. It breaks my heart. Please, stay strong and know that we are all there with you and praying for this to end, this callous and unnecessary war that none of you wanted. Power and love."
