The Netherlands to increase military aid to Ukraine by 2.7 billion euros: what will be purchased

The Netherlands will transfer more aid to Ukraine

Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Slot announced an increase in military aid to Ukraine in 2024. This implies that the government in Amsterdam will allocate 2.5 billion euros for the needs of the Defense Forces, which are resisting Russia.

AA reported this from the hall of the OSCE summit, which is taking place in the capital of North Macedonia. From the rostrum, the diplomat assured his Ukrainian colleagues of support until the end.

"This assistance should fully satisfy the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in ammunition, as well as equip air defense systems and other installations that were previously supplied to Kyiv. The Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine whatever it takes and for as long as it takes," Slot said.

She added that her country is closely monitoring what the Russian army is doing in Ukraine. The vast majority of war crimes committed by the invaders have not gone unnoticed, will be investigated by an independent court in The Hague and the perpetrators will be punished.

"The Netherlands strongly condemns Russia's policy of illegal transfer and deportation of Ukrainian children. This policy is aimed at destroying the identity and culture of Ukraine," the minister emphasized in the end of her speech.

As reported, France promises to increase the amount of ammunition supplied to the Ukrainian Defense Forces in 2024. During a recent meeting, representatives of Kyiv and Paris considered the possibility of strengthening cooperation in the defense sector and establishing logistics between the two countries.

Earlier, the Pentagon has pointed out that the military assistance provided by Washington to Ukraine after Russia's full-scale invasion has strengthened the US national defense industrial base. The US defense industry has been at this level for decades.
