'We're not getting into trouble': Russian Paralympic champion tells how he avoids Ukrainians

Russian athletes are trying to avoid communicating with Ukrainians in the Paralympic Village in Paris, where the Games for athletes with disabilities will start on August 28. At the same time, representatives of the aggressor country and the blue-and-yellow national team were placed as far away from each other as possible.

Andrei Vdovin, track and field athlete of the Russian national team and Tokyo 2020 champion, told about it in an interview with the propaganda channel Match TV. At the same time, forgetting to mention the criminal war against our country, he pretended that athletes from the Russian Federation were as friendly as possible, while the ignoring came from the Ukrainians.

"Were walking around the village and found the Ukrainian corps. If you visualize the village as a letter "P", the Ukrainians are on the other side from us. There's a huge dining hall separating us, and it's hard to just wander into that part. I think it's done on purpose. Not to say that we had close, intimate relations with them before. It wasn't like that. Like with everyone else: "Hello - goodbye." But now, even in a dialog, we just don't get into possible trouble. So that there would be no questions later. In fact, it is the Ukrainians who have the task of not communicating with us. But we are open to dialog. We just understand that athletes from Ukraine will have no dialog with us," Vdovin said hypocritically.

It should be noted that 90 Russians will take part in the Paralympic Games 2024. They will perform under a neutral flag, they are forbidden to mention the name of their country, and in addition, the results of representatives of the Russian Federation will not go in the medal count.
