"This is a disgrace and a desertion": Brodsky makes a loud statement after Ukraine's performance in the qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA World Cup

Mykhailo Brodsky, President of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine (FBU), thanked the players of the Ukrainian national team for their performance in the pre-qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympics. He paid tribute to Vitaliy Stepanovsky's team for reaching the semi-finals of the competition, in which our team lost to Croatia.

Brodsky said this in a comment to the FBU press service. The head of Ukrainian basketball also announced an important statement about the players who could not help the team at the tournament in Istanbul. He added that some athletes pretended that they could not play due to injuries, but in fact it was not the case.

"I cannot but thank the guys who fought for Ukraine at the tournament in Istanbul. You are our pride. Unfortunately, the national teams of Turkey and Croatia failed to qualify. They were at full strength with their best players. Our team fought fairly, but we'll talk about our squad separately on Monday. To say that I am ashamed is not enough, it is a shame and desertion in wartime, when their peers are dying on the frontlines for the freedom of our homeland. There are objectively injured, but there are other cases. All on Monday," Brodsky said.
