"They are trying to erase us": Olympic medalist complains that the West wants to turn Russia into North Korea

Zhulin condemns sanctions

Vice-champion and two-time Olympic medalist Alexander Zhulin expressed fears that Russia is being turned into North Korea. At the same time, the former figure skater accused Western countries of this, not the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, whose actions lead to the isolation of the aggressor country.

Zhulin said this in an interview with the propaganda publication Sport-Express. The ex-husband of Ukraine's traitor Tatyana Navka was outraged by the suspension of Russians from international competitions and also predicted even tougher sanctions against Russia if British Sebastian Coe becomes president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

"We need the SVO (as Russia shamefully calls the war against Ukraine - ed.) to end. Then everything will be as it was before. Now they want to put Sebastian Coe in the IOC, he just hates us and said that they won't even let us out under a neutral flag. They have completely screwed us over. They are trying to make us into North Korea, and I don't want them to succeed, but we can expect it. North Korea is a very closed country, I've been there, with only three TV channels, clear Stalinist rules, an absolutely Stalinist regime. We, of course, are not so closed, but they are trying to erase us and bring us to this state," Zhulin said.

It should be noted that it was the Russian authorities who launched a policy to return the cult of Stalin's personality. Monuments to the tyrant have begun to be erected en masse in the country. Earlier, Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova demanded that Sebastian Coe return the gold medal from the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian athlete Maria Lasitskene categorically opposed the arrival of World Athletics head Sebastian Coe as IOC president.
