Rioting occurred at the Boxing World Cup 2023, taking place from April 30-May 15 in the Uzbek capital. The tournament is sponsored by the International Boxing Association (IBA), whose president is Umar Kremlev from Russia.

The pro-Russian IBA allowed Russian teams to compete under the national flag and national anthem. Britain, the United States, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Canada, Sweden, and New Zealand are boycotting the World Cup because of this.

Footage from Tashkent shows fans jumping over seats and running to the ring.

In the second clip, local audience members appear in the frame, quickly leaving the gym with an armful of boxing gloves.

On September 23, the IBA suspended the Ukrainian Boxing Federation allegedly because of government interference in its work.

After that, the Ukrainian junior national team refused to compete under a neutral flag at the European Championships in Italian Montesilvano.
