"Nasty": it became known that Russians are provoking Ukrainians at the 2024 Paralympics

Russians are trying to put psychological pressure on our compatriots

Members of the Russian Paralympic team at the 2024 Games, where they are competing under a neutral flag, are trying to piss off Ukrainian athletes in every way possible. Representatives of the aggressor country are demonstrating their dismissive and arrogant attitude toward our compatriots.

Valeriy Sushkevych, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine, said this in an interview with the We Are Ukraine TV channel. According to him, the Russians are not only organizing psychological terror of our compatriots, but are also trying to get them disqualified.

"The first option is rude provocations. Walking next to our athlete and saying something about the 'khokhlov'. I told the president of the International Paralympic Committee about this, that they will play up to being reprimanded, because there will be trouble. The other option is provocative - when they ostentatiously say "hello," for example. Both options are vile. And they cause an unambiguous reaction from our athletes. The main thing here is not to respond to a provocation, because it will result in the disqualification of a Ukrainian athlete," Sushkevich said.

As a reminder, 88 athletes from the Russian Federation are represented at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. They are prohibited from using national symbols and mentioning the name of the country.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian Paralympic athlete Andrey Vdovin told how he avoids communicating with Ukrainians. And our swimmer Oleksandr Komarov refused to take a joint photo with Russian Kirill Pulver during the award ceremony.
